Bangkok, Thailand — The Embassy of the United States in Thailand hosted an exclusive U.S. Alumni Association Leadership Coffee, personally hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Sean O’Neill, bringing together presidents and leaders of major American university alumni organizations across Thailand.

Held as part of the Embassy’s broader America 250 / Freedom 250 initiative, the gathering marked an important moment of connection among U.S. university alumni communities in Thailand. The initiative celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States while reaffirming the enduring role of education, leadership, and people-to-people ties between Thailand and the United States.

Representing the Yale Club of Thailand, Dr. Paye Akkrawat Srinarong, President of the Yale Club of Thailand and Chancellor of MUSE [X], joined fellow alumni leaders from leading U.S. institutions including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Columbia, NYU, and many others. The discussion focused on building stronger collaboration across alumni communities and expanding their collective impact for future generations.

Rather than viewing each alumni club as a separate university network, the dialogue emphasized the opportunity to create a more connected ecosystem among American alumni organizations in Thailand. Such collaboration can better support students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, and emerging leaders through mentorship, cultural exchange, leadership development, and community service.

Key themes of the discussion included strengthening collaboration among U.S. university alumni clubs in Thailand, supporting the America 250 initiative through educational and cultural engagement, expanding opportunities for mentorship and leadership development, increasing the social impact of alumni organizations for younger generations, and creating cross-university partnerships that transcend institutional boundaries while promoting American higher education in Thailand.

Dr. Paye welcomed the initiative as an important step toward a more unified and forward-looking alumni community.

“The future is not about which university we came from, but what we can build together. By working across institutions, we can create greater opportunities for young people, strengthen lifelong learning, and ensure that our alumni communities remain meaningful and relevant to society.”

The Yale Club of Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with fellow American alumni organizations, the U.S. Embassy, and educational partners to foster collaboration, leadership, innovation, and greater access to U.S. higher education and international exchange.

The gathering reflects the longstanding educational partnership between Thailand and the United States, and demonstrates a shared commitment to empowering the next generation through stronger networks, collaboration, and service to society.
