Biography
Grace Cloutier is an internationally acclaimed virtuoso harpist praised by New York Concert Review as “an accomplished, poised, self-assured performer” and by Choral Journal for her “breadth of expression and remarkable tone.”
Trained at The Juilliard School, Yale University, and in France, Grace has built a distinguished international career as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, and advocate for the harp. She made her solo Carnegie Hall début recital in 2006, returned for an encore solo recital in 2008, and produced the “Grace and Friends” concert at Carnegie Hall in 2014.
Grace has performed across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, with regular appearances for the American Harp Society, the World Harp Congress, and the Ukrainian National Music Festival. She co-founded Ukraine’s International Harp Competition and served as head juror with a panel including musicians from Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre.
As a chamber musician, Grace performs regularly with Etherea Vocal Ensemble and with Jennifer Black and Rebecca Ringle of The Metropolitan Opera. Her collaborations also include appearances with Constantine Orbelian and Dmitri Hvorostovsky, the Calder String Quartet, and many others.
A dedicated educator, Grace has given master classes across the United States, held multiple residencies at UCLA, and served on faculty at The University of Texas. She is currently Head of the Harp Departments at both The Hartt School and Quinnipiac University.
Grace has also been featured on numerous recordings, including Radiant, Winter Solace, Ceremony of Carols, Hymn to the Dawn, Harp’s Desire, and albums released by labels including HIP Records, Delos, Albany Records, and MSR Classics.
