Yodsapon Ongsumang

Yodsapon Ongsumang began his musical studies in Grade 7 at Horwang School as a member of the school’s marching band, where he initially played the tuba. He later began studying double bass in Grade 8 under the guidance of Siwawut Wattanawongkiri. During his secondary education, he continued his double bass studies with Phadol Sophacharoen, Rutawat Sinthuthepparat, and Sukol Sirisak. In 2018, Yodsapon joined both the Sunrise Strings Orchestra and the Thailand Youth Orchestra. In the same year, he was given the opportunity to perform with the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2022, he received a 75% Talent Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree at the College of Music, Rangsit University, where he continues his studies under the supervision of Sukol Sirisak. Yodsapon has performed with Siam Sinfonietta during Seasons 13–15 and has also appeared as an extra musician with the Thammasat University Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and the RSU Symphony Orchestra. In 2023, he participated in Rondofest in Penang, Malaysia. In 2025, he took part in the 14th China–ASEAN Music Festival in Nanning, Guangxi, People’s Republic of China. He has also participated in masterclasses with David Sheets and Marc Ramírez, further developing his performance skills, orchestral awareness, and musical interpretation. At Muse [X], Yodsapon brings a strong orchestral and youth ensemble background to the Strings department, helping young bassists build solid fundamentals, ensemble discipline, musical sensitivity, and stage readiness.
