Master Sukol

Sukol Sirisak is a Thai double bassist and educator with extensive orchestral, festival, and international study experience. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Silpakorn University, master’s degree at Mahidol University, and later continued advanced double bass, solo, and chamber music studies at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech Republic. He has performed with orchestras in Thailand and abroad, including the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Penang Philharmonic Orchestra, CU Symphony Orchestra, Kyushu City Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, and other international ensembles.

Biography

Sukol Sirisak is a Bangkok-born double bassist whose training combines Thai conservatory education with international European study. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Silpakorn University, where he studied with Prof. Nakorn Kittiudom, and later earned his master’s degree from Mahidol University under Prof. Maris Arent. After completing his master’s degree, he continued his advanced studies in double bass solo and chamber music at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech Republic, studying with Prof. Miloslav Jelinek. Throughout his development, Sukol received scholarships and participated in major youth orchestra programs, festivals, and music camps, including the South-East Asian Youth Orchestra, CISMA Music Camp in China, Asian Youth Orchestra, Brno Double Bass Convention, and the Japan Contrabass Festival. His orchestral experience spans Thailand and abroad. He has performed with ensembles including CU Symphony Orchestra as Principal, Viola Lover as Principal, Penang Philharmonic Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyushu City Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in Japan, Million Wind Philharmonic, The Sun Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Nagaoka Symphony Orchestra in Japan. As an educator, Sukol has taught at the Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University, and at the Faculty of Education, Western Music Department, Chulalongkorn University. He also serves as the Thailand representative of the Asian Youth Orchestra. At Muse [X], Sukol brings senior double bass expertise, orchestral discipline, international exposure, and deep pedagogical experience to the Strings department. His teaching supports young bassists in building serious fundamentals, orchestral awareness, chamber sensitivity, and long-term musical discipline.
