Biography
Master Siripong “Aob” Pensawang is a professional musician, sound engineer, educator, and marching arts specialist with a strong background in Western music education, brass instruction, drum set training, wind band development, and large-scale music performance management.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Western Music, Faculty of Education, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. His professional path has combined performance, teaching, sound engineering, ensemble coaching, and organizational leadership within Thailand’s wind band and marching arts community.
Master Aob has been active in the marching and wind band scene for many years. He was a guest member of the Bodindecha Sing Singhaseni School Marching Band in 2004 and a member of Siamyth Drum & Bugle Corps from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, he joined the coaching team and served as a guest member for the marching band of Northeastern Technological College.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as a special instructor at Assumption College Thonburi, teaching drum set and brass instruments. His work as an educator focuses not only on instrumental skill, but also on discipline, ensemble awareness, rhythmic precision, sound quality, and stage responsibility.
Beyond teaching and performance, Master Aob has played a significant role in developing Thailand’s marching arts ecosystem. He is part of the founding group of the Music and Marching Arts International Association and formerly served as the association’s treasurer. In 2013, he was also among the founding members of the Bangkok Marching Band Club, which helped establish a marching band community on the Thonburi side of Bangkok.
Since 2017, he has been part of the founding group of Thai Youths Wind (TYW), a youth wind ensemble supported by the Ministry of Culture. He has also served as a core team member for major national and international marching events, including Music & Marching Arts International in 2018 and World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB) Thailand in 2022.
