Biography

Master Roykhien Wanglert is a full-time pianist based in Bangkok, with a strong background in jazz performance, improvisation, and live ensemble playing. Known for his refined musicianship and competition achievements, he has developed his career through both formal jazz performance platforms and regular professional performance experience. His accomplishments include 1st place in the Thailand International Jazz Conference (TIJC) Junior Division in 2014, the Outstanding Pianist Award at the Thailand Jazz Competition (TJC) in 2018, and 2nd place at the West Virginia Jazz Competition in 2020. These achievements reflect his ability to combine technical control, harmonic understanding, improvisational fluency, and stage presence. As a performer, Master Roykhien remains active in Bangkok’s professional music scene. He performs regularly at leading hotels, jazz clubs, and live music venues, gaining practical experience across different performance settings, audience types, and ensemble formats. At MUSE [X], Master Roykhien brings a performance-based approach to jazz piano education. His teaching supports students in building strong foundations in harmony, time, touch, voicing, improvisation, and ensemble communication. Through his real-world experience as a working jazz pianist, he helps students understand not only how to play jazz, but how to listen, respond, support others, and perform with confidence.
