Master Prayut Kesorn is a Thai jazz double bassist and educator specializing in jazz performance, ensemble playing, and music theory. A graduate of Silpakorn University with a Dusit Thani scholarship, he has built his musical foundation through competitions, ensemble work, and extensive live performance experience in Thailand’s jazz scene.

Biography
Master Prayut Kesorn is a Thai jazz double bassist and educator with a strong background in jazz performance, ensemble playing, and music theory. He graduated from Silpakorn University, where he studied with the support of a Dusit Thani scholarship and developed a solid foundation as both a performer and musician.
Specializing in jazz double bass, Master Prayut has gained experience through competitions, live performances, and collaborative ensemble work. His achievements include winning first place in the Big Band category at the Thailand Jazz Competition from 2017 to 2019, as well as receiving recognition at the 9th and 10th Silpakorn Youth Music Awards.
As a performer, he has remained active in Thailand’s jazz community, contributing to a range of live music projects and ensemble settings. His performance experience includes collaborations such as the Samantha Wright Jazz Trio at TICA, reflecting his ability to support and shape music through listening, groove, harmony, and ensemble awareness.
Alongside his work as a professional jazz musician, Master Prayut is also active as an educator. He currently serves as a Teaching Assistant, with a focus on music theory and ensemble performance. His teaching supports students in understanding not only the technical role of the bass, but also the deeper musical responsibilities of rhythm, time, harmony, communication, and group interaction.
At MUSE [X], Master Prayut brings a practical, performance-based approach to jazz education. His work helps students build strong foundations in groove, theory, improvisation, ensemble discipline, and the real-world language of jazz performance.
