Chaithawat Atiphophai

Chaithawat Atiphophai is an award-winning Thai pianist and music educator whose performances have taken him across Asia, Europe, and North America, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, McGill University’s Pollack Hall, and the Paris Opera Bastille. He graduated from the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in 2025 with a Licentiate in Piano Performance.

Biography
Chaithawat Atiphophai is an award-winning Thai pianist and music educator. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, he began his musical studies at the age of five at Yamaha Music School. He later studied with Dr. Indhuon Srikaranonda in Thailand and Prof. Richard Raymond in Canada, before completing his studies under Prof. Marina Mdivani at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montréal, where he graduated in 2025 with a Licentiate in Piano Performance.
Chaithawat has performed internationally throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. His concert appearances include prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Pollack Hall at McGill University, and the Studio Auditorium of the Paris Opera Bastille.
His achievements include Third Prize at the First International Robert Schumann Piano Competition, a prize at the International Franz Liszt Competition in Weimar, First Prize at the Osaka International Music Competition, First Prize and the Best Chopin Prize at the Virtuoso Competition in Paris, and First Prize at the Yamaha Thailand Music Festival. He has also received awards at the ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition, the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, and the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition.
Chaithawat has participated in international festivals and masterclasses including Orford Music Academy and Porto Pianofest, studying with distinguished artists such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Boris Berman, William Nabore, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Richard Raymond, Jean Saulnier, José Ramón Méndez, and Marina Mdivani.
Alongside his performing career, Chaithawat is an active piano teacher dedicated to inspiring students of all ages and levels. Through both teaching and performance, he continues to pursue artistic excellence while sharing his passion for music with the next generation of musicians.
