Artas Balakauskas is a Lithuanian classical pianist and educator with distinguished training from the M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, Moscow Conservatory, and École Normale de Musique de Paris. Biography
Artas Balakauskas is a Lithuanian classical pianist and teacher born into a family of musicians. He began his musical education at the M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in Vilnius before continuing his studies at the P. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory of Music, where he earned degrees in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, and Chamber Music.
He later received a scholarship from the V. Landsbergis Foundation to study at École Normale de Musique de Paris, where he was awarded the highest diplomas in Piano Performance and Chamber Music. As a performer, Artas has appeared in concerts and festivals across France, Spain, Lithuania, Ukraine, New Zealand, Germany, and Thailand.
Together with his wife, acclaimed pianist Dr. Indhuon Srikaranonda, Artas formed a piano duo with nearly two decades of creative collaboration, performing repertoire for two pianos and piano four hands, including world premiere performances. He is also known for his ambitious Beethoven project, performing all 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas during the 2015–2017 seasons, presented by Bösendorfer Thailand.
